We have moved into very turbulent times in this the twenty- first century. As President Trump and his Republican Party run this country, we see violence and hatred exploding across our land. Stability and peace has been hidden beneath floor boards and rocks as violence of all types have sprung forward like new leaves on trees and flowers everywhere. This maelstrom of hatred comes from the top, not from the bottom our society. When hatred and derision come from our leaders, then the followers will act and sow their putrid tripe; death and destruction will be in the wake. Thanks to our President and his verbal trash, the flood gates have been opened and this country will reap the whirlwind of terror.
Placing men with weapons inside places of love and peace (Churches, Synagogues, or Temples) is not an answer. The answer to this question, we don’t have at this time…
Possibly education; possibly getting away from sowing hatred and verbal derision; possibly remembering that violence and hatred only sows more hatred and more violence; possibly remembering that we are the ones that must change and must educate, and must use love, peace, and our own humanity to make the change from hatred, fear, and anger to a peaceful discourse in unity and peace.
It is now up to us, the ordinary citizen, that come to the fore front and make the change. We are the ones who feel the brunt of the violence, so we are the ones to end the violence. We must use our voices, our actions, and our will to start the process of peace and unity; regardless of race, religion, or even political party in this: our beloved county.
